The National Week of Student Action Starts Out With a Bang!
The National Week of Student Action has started out with a bang! Student groups are holding events around the nation to raise awareness about the treatment of detainees in Guantanamo. Here are some of the upcoming events: Tonight, April 1st, the Brevard County Amnesty International in Florida is screening the film "the Road to Guantanamo". George Mason University (VA) students will detain volunteers in a mock cell. The volunteers will only be released after 50 people have signed a petition to President Bush calling on him to close Guantanamo. North Hunterdon is having bake sales and petition signing days after school with the members of their club in orange jumpsuits. Some will be wearing tape over their mouths.
If you haven't yet posted your events please do so here.
There is also a list of registered events around you! Take a look and see what you can take part in!
